When the .NET generic Top-Level Domain was initially introduced in 1985, along with the first domain name extensions on the Internet, it was supposed to be used by Internet Service Providers or infrastructure companies. Given that there were no special prerequisites about the usage of the top-level domain extension, though, dot NET domains were obtained and used for various purposes and by loads of people. This extension is a good alternative to dot COM, notably if the necessary domain with the latter extension is not free for registration.
Getting a .NET domain name with our firm is as easy as pie and takes just a couple of minutes, considering that we work with an ICANN-certified registrar company. You can book such a domain for a time interval between one and ten years, or, if you already possess a domain, you can move it over to our firm and we will renew it when the transfer process is finalized. Transfers are available for all domains, which are at least sixty days old, given that they are unlocked and that you have an EPP transfer code – security measures established by the .NET Registry to prevent unauthorized transfers. You can easily update the WHOIS contact info of the domain through your Control Panel tool, or, if you wouldn't like this information to be public at all, you can buy a Whois Privacy Protection service, so nobody will be able to check your real contact info.
The dot NET top-level extension supports internationalized names, so you can choose whether you want to aim at a certain country or region using a domain name in the native language, or the global web community – using a generic English name.
