An access log contains a record of all of the files that have been requested by the visitors while surfing around your site. The list is detailed, so if you have a webpage with two embedded images, for example, all of the three files will be in the log, not only the page. An access log typically features the date, the Operating System, the web browser and the IP address for each file in human-readable form, so you can get a good idea about the most popular files on your Internet site. The log, that is also commonly named "raw data", is an addition to the web stats which you normally get with a hosting account, not a replacement. An illustration why you may require this kind of a log is if you wish to use some software on your PC to prepare a report about the website’s performance, but you do not want to use the typical graphs and tables which come with the server-generated web stats.

Access Log Manager in Cloud Hosting

If you get a cloud hosting from us, you shall be able to choose if access logs must be generated and for which domains or subdomains in your account this should be done. You may activate this feature from the Access/Error Logs section of the Hepsia CP, incorporated with all shared accounts. Every domain name you host or subdomain you set up shall be listed there and you'll see an On/Off option next to every one of them, so you can conveniently enable or deactivate the generation of access logs separately for every single site that you have. You can save a log to your PC by clicking on the Download link that you shall see in the exact same section of the Control Panel. The link shall be available even if you stop the log generation, so you'll still have access to the data compiled by our system.
